Children over-use the word very all the time. The more "verys", the younger the child. Since we fight to not sound like children, we must avoid the expression.
Note: It has been reported numerous times that wealthy urban business people don't use the word "very" at all. Another reason to not say this adjective aloud. We should model these people, after all, they are usually extremely persuasive. (Money is not without its charm.)
