Think about it. What happens when you don't say "Thank You" to your subject after a piece of business is closed or is moving toward being closed. We know what happens.
He thanks you for bringing something worthwhile into his life. Thanks you for persevering with him while he was being stubborn about learning enough about your product or service to allow him to realize that you weren't trying to hurt him and sell him something that he didn't need.
And when he does thank you, by all means, make sure that you return the compliment with a hearty handshake and "You're Welcome!"
