Yes, "Please" is on the list.

It's no mistake! We never say please because it's too polite and it's over used by children.
Leaders are not overly polite and persuaders must be perceived
as a leader in any selling situation to be effective.

Politeness is perceived unconsciously as weakness. Stereotypical images don't show weak people worthy of investment. Be it in the subject's time or his money.

Weakness on ANY level undermines the aura of leadership we should be trying to generate.


Being perceived as strong, persuades.
Being perceived as polite, does not!


Note: We are not suggesting that the student be impolite either; Your body language, attitudes, and your overall mannerisms should all deliver a message of business-like civility and intelligence.
